Halloween!!

So Halloween has always been one of my favorite holidays. I love dressing up and decorating. I love the smell of all things pumpkin and the beginning of the cold season. I am finding out that I am passing my love of this holiday down to my Lily. She has been practicing trick or treating the whole month and was super excited to be a Pink Butterfly for Halloween. I wanted us to all dress up together because I am and will be forever a "theme" person. I love when families are all matching together! So I was an Orange Butterfly, Lily was a Pink Butterfly, and Nick was a bug catcher. I don't think Nick was very excited about it, but he went along because it made his girls happy. He is such a good daddy and hubby.

We went to Grace Community Church's Harvest Festival and had such a great time! Lily is such a social butterfly (no pun intended!) she was chatting with everyone telling them it was Halloween Day and she was a butterfly and this and that. She is so much like me! She played a lot of games and got waaaayy too much candy (which her daddy graciously took off her hands as to not get her sick) and she got to go in the bounce house.

After GCC it was off to trick or treat in our neighborhood. I was super excited for her to go out and have a great time, but she got scared at like the fourth house we went to because they had a loud smoke machine. I was so sad for her because it took a lot of the fun out of it. She did have a good time seeing her grammy and grandad and she ended up with a ton of candy. All in all I say it was a pretty good Halloween. I am excited to have a new little bean next year to add to our pack! Maybe we will be a PB&J with Lily as jelly, the baby as peanut butter, and Nick and I as bread. I'm sure that would make Nick sooo happy! Next up.. Thanksgiving!!

Pumpkin Patch!

On a beautiful saturday in October we took Lily on a suprise visit to the Pumpkin Patch! It is one of our family traditions to go and get a pumpkin for every one in the family. I LOVE our Pumpkin Patch! There is so much to do there. They have a hay ride, face painting, a little train for the kids, snacks, and the most important part... pumpkins!

Lily is getting to be such a big girl, she was able to pick up her pumpkins by herself this year and help Nick pull the wagon around. I really do remember her first trip to the pumpkin patch at 4 months old. I can't believe how big she
is and that next year we will be picking out 4
pumpkins instead of 3!

Baby Number 2!

We are so excited about the new Newell family member! It took us about 9 months of trying and I was beginning to think that it may never happen. We found out on September 14th. I had taken a test a few days before and gotten a negative result. I was really dissapointed and sad. But a couple days later I took another test just to be sure and there they were... two pink lines! I couldn't believe it and actually went out and bought 2 more tests and took those too! All of the tests had the same positive result! So the new baby is going to be due May 21, 2010. We are really hoping for a little boy this time because this will probably be our last baby, but the thought of Lily being a sister is very special too. We are really just hoping for a safe pregnancy and can't wait to meet our new baby!

Jumping on the bandwagon...

Well I have been wanting to get started with a blog for a while now and I figured what better time than the present! So hopefully I will be able to keep up with it and keep family and friends up to speed on what's going on in our life!
